Terry L. Nichols

Terry L. Nichols, 67,  formerly of Sackets Harbor, New York, passed away peacefully May 2, 2024 after a tireless fight against  cancer. She was in the presence and comfort of her husband Kenneth Nichols, under the care of Hospice.

She was born on November 6, 1956, in Watertown, New York, daughter of the late Rollin and Isabelle (Kirch) Johnson. Terry attended school at General Brown High School. She married William Bercume, who brought two children with him to their life that Terry loved, and raised as her own before having three children together. Their marriage ended in divorce. On June 22, 2002, she married Kenneth Nichols in Sackets Harbor, New York. Terry was a devoted homemaker who found joy in camping, spending time with her children and grandchildren, indulging in arts and crafts, and making every gathering into a party. She and her husband relocated to Frostproof, Florida, from 2015 until the fall of 2023. During their time in Florida, they delighted in hosting murder mystery dinners,  traveling, visiting the ocean, and playing cards. They returned home when Terry fell ill in September of 2023. 

Terry is survived by her beloved husband, Kenneth Nichols; her three children and their spouses,Jayme and Justin Rivers of Camillus, New York; Kelly Bercume of Watertown, New York; and Jacey and Bobby Williams III of Carthage, New York. She is also survived by Michael and Shelly Bercume of Laredo Texas;  Their adult son Matthew Bercume of Clarksville, Tennessee;  Robert and Christy Bercume of Navarre, Florida, and their adult daughter Ashley Wilson of Waldorf Maryland. Terry had the honor of raising Michael and Robert as her own, Matthew and Ashley bonded with Terry later in life. She is also survived by two stepchildren, and their spouses. Nathan and Holly Nichols of Watertown, New York; Sarah Nichols of Watertown, New York. Terry leaves behind twelve very loved grandchildren, Kaytlynn, and Kiley Rivers; Devon, Carson, Makenzie, and Aubrey Bercume; Kennidy and Kaiden Hilliker, Adrian, and Bobby Williams; Lily and Grace Nichols. Two brothers, and a sister-in-law: Michael and Nancy Johnson and Kevin Johnson, all of Watertown, New York.

She was predeceased by her loving parents, Rollin and Isabelle Johnson.

Arrangements are with Johnson Funeral Home. Calling hours will be held on Thursday, May 16, 2024 at 12:00 PM followed by a funeral service at the funeral home beginning at 1:00 PM. Burial will immediately follow in Dexter Cemetery. Her celebration of life will be held at the Dexter Legion directly after the burial.
