Susan E Lallier

Susan E Lallier, age 68 of Cape Vincent, NY, passed away on August 10, 2025 surrounded by  loved ones.

Born on January 8, 1957, in Gouverneur, NY Susan (Susie) was a graduate of Gouverneur High School. She remained in Gouverneur and worked at the Clearview Restaurant where her sense of humor and vibrant personality shined.  Soon after, she enlisted in the Army National Guard and actively served in Colorado and NY.  After completing active duty, she attended SUNY Canton and obtained an RN degree.  Like her Mother, she was born to be a nurse.  She worked in hospitals, home health, a physician’s office and finally for the NYS correctional facilities.  She retired from Cape Vincent Correctional Facility. She remained in Cape Vincent and continued to provide nursing care for many residents.  Many of her patients and their families became lifelong friends.

She had a remarkable ability to connect with people from all walks of life, whether old friends or strangers.  That gift stayed with her throughout her life, even during her cancer treatments, where she left a lasting impression on the medical staff who cared for her.

Susie will be remembered for her kindness, generosity, and unmistakable sense of humor. She was an avid reader, talented gardener, and an extraordinary cook, known for her welcoming nature and open heart. 

She is survived by her siblings Jeanne (John) Sheridan, Mary Lallier, John (Elizabeth) Lallier, James (Tari) Lallier, Anne (Joseph) Reilly, Daniel (Diane) Lallier, Francis (Michele) Lallier, and Catherine (Michael) Patneaude, along with many beloved nieces, nephews and her dearest Quinn.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Ann Lallier, her brother, Robert F. Lallier Jr. and niece, Nicole Lallier.

A Funeral Mass will be said at 11 a.m. on Monday, August 18th at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 1626 Kanady St. Cape Vincent. A celebration of life will follow at St. John's Episcopal Church, 352 S Market St., Cape Vincent.

In lieu of flowers donations in her memory can be made to Jefferson County Hospice or the Walker Center for Cancer Care, Watertown, NY.
