Scott R. Kizzer

Scott R. Kizzer, 51, passed away unexpectedly on July 1, 2025, at his home in the Town of Hounsfield, New York.

Born on January 8, 1974, in Watertown, NY, he was the son of Raymond and Helen A. Kizzer. Scott graduated from General Brown High School in 1991. Over the years, he worked for various businesses in the local area.

Scott and his father shared a lifelong passion for motorsports, bonding over their love of NASCAR, and countless weekends spent at CanAm Speedway and Evans Mills Speedway. They had a deep passion for racing and especially enjoyed working on race cars together in their spare time.

Scott is survived by his beloved mother, Helen A. Kizzer of Dexter, NY; two sisters and their husbands, Amy A. and Alan Savage of Dexter, NY, and Melanie and Scott Smith of Dexter, NY. He is also survived by seven nieces and nephews: Kris and Scott Phelps of Plessis, NY, Mike Messina of Florida, Alanna Savage of Colorado, Shawn Savage of Watertown, Kyle and Amanda Chapman of Dexter, NY, Jayme (Hannah) Smith of Watertown, NY, and Parker Smith and his fiancée, Mackenzie, of Brownville, NY. He also leaves behind many great-nieces and nephews who will miss him dearly.

Scott was predeceased by his father, Raymond Kizzer.

Arrangements are entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home. A private graveside service will be held at the convenience of the family in Dexter Cemetery.
