Sally Clark Snider Obituary

Sally Clark Snider, 87, of Dexter, New York, passed away peacefully on May 7, 2025, at Samaritan Medical Center.

She was born on March 18, 1938, in Watertown, New York, the daughter of Earl and Martha (Oswald) Clark. Sally graduated from Dexter High School in 1956 and married Elwood “Duke” Snider on April 21, 1957, at St. Elizabeth Seton Church in Dexter. The couple made their home in Dexter, where they lived their entire lives.

A devoted homemaker, Sally was known for her warmth, kindness, and love of family. She was a proud member of the Lil Angel Snowmobile Club and the Dexter Fire Department Auxiliary. She enjoyed NASCAR and spending time with her loved ones.

Sally is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Kevin and Diane Snider of Rensselaer, NY; her grandchildren, Christopher Snider of Dexter, Chelsea and James Hanks of Adams, Caitlin Snider of Rensselaer, and Patrick Snider of Rensselaer; and her great-grandchildren, Dylan Snider, Dominick Snider and Carson Hanks. She is survived by a niece, Faith (George) Young; and nephews Dennis “DJ” (Colleen) Ellingsworth, John (Lori Evans) Ellingsworth, and Robert Knight.  Sally is also survived by a dear friend Wanda Mills and her Brother-in-law Richard (Gail) Snider.

She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Elwood “Duke” Snider, who passed away on January 11, 2018; her daughter, Julie Dumas; her parents; and her sister, Kathy Knight.

A private graveside service will be held at Dexter Cemetery at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to: The Dexter Fire Department, Jefferson County SPCA or the American Heart Association.
