Roy R.Quesenberry, of Watertown, NY, passed away peacefully on March 31, 2024, at his home surrounded by his loved ones.
Roy was born on June 25, 1953 and graduated from Watertown High School in 1971. Immediately following his graduation, he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force, where he served with honor until 1977, specializing in Law Enforcement. He later joined the U.S. Army serving in the infantry. Upon completing his service in the Army, he continued his service as a dedicated member of the New York State Department of Corrections and retired from Watertown Correctional Facility after 26 years.
In 1977, Roy married Deborah Fassett and they had 2 children together.
In his free time, Roy enjoyed hunting, swimming, walking or running long distances. He also loved spending time with his grandchildren and attended as many sporting events as he could.
He is survived by his companion, Deborah Quesenbery; his daughter and son in law, Amy and Thomas O’Riley; two sisters Shelly Dewees and Donna Lawler, both of Watertown; two brothers and a sister in law, Andrew (Tina) Quesenberry, Lafargeville and Bill Quesenberry, Florida; his grandchildren, Adriana, Aria, Miriah and Cody; and several nieces and nephews.
Roy was predeceased by his son Lewis Quesenberry, his mother and stepfather, Sally and Monty Scee, his father William Quesenberry, and his sisters Rowena Quesenberry and Kimberly Branche.
Arrangements are with the Johnson Funeral Home. Per Roy’s wishes, there will be no services.
