Ronald L. Timmerman Obituary

Ronald L. Timmerman, formerly of Limerick, Wellesley Island and most recently of Sackets Harbor, passed away peacefully on June 8, 2025 surrounded by loved ones.

He was born on September 20, 1947, in Watertown, NY, the son of Grenville and Irene (Mott)Timmerman. Ronald graduated from General Brown High School and proudly served his country in the United States Army. After his tour in Vietnam he returned to the states and married Kathryn Eisenhauer. After his honorable discharge they moved to Limerick and they had two children before her passing in September 1994.

On February 13, 1998, Ronald married Connie Weston in Watertown, NY. The couple resided on Wellesley Island and in 2024 built a home in Sackets Harbor. Since 2012, they have also enjoyed spending winters in Sarasota, Florida.

Ronald was a proud and skilled carpenter and a longtime member of Carpenters Union Local 278 out of Watertown. He dedicated 56 years of loyal service to the union, retiring as a business agent on October 1, 2005.

Ronald was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Dexter, NY, and the Sackets Harbor American Legion. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, taking trips to Canada to hunt bear and moose, and trap shooting with his son and grandchildren. He also loved working with his draft horses, golfing, boating, riding motorcycles with Connie, and spending time with his family. Ronnie enjoyed shuffleboard and Texas Hold’em with his Sarasota family and friends.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Connie J. Timmerman of Sackets Harbor, NY; two children, Ginny Timmerman of Dexter, NY, and Andrew (Deanna) Timmerman of Point Salubrious, NY; two stepchildren, Kimberly (Mike)Weston VanNess of Sackets Harbor, NY, and Patrick (Donnie Marie) Weston of Chaumont, NY; and seven cherished grandchildren, Trevor Weston, Molly Timmerman, Kaitlyn Weston, Shane Terry, Kenneth Timmerman, Samuel Timmerman and Charlee Weston.

Calling hours will be held at Johnson Funeral Home in Dexter, NY from 1:00 to 3:00 pm on Saturday, June 14th with Masonic ceremony at 3:00 pm held at the funeral home followed by burial with honors at Dexter Cemetery. A gathering will be held at the Sackets Harbor American Legion immediately following the burial.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Ronald’s memory may be made to Hospice of Jefferson County.
