Robert L. Timerman, 98, of Brownville, New York, passed away peacefully on July 20, 2024, at his home, surrounded by his loving family.
Robert was born on September 12, 1925, in Glen Park, New York, the son of Leland and Ruth (Daniels) Timerman. He graduated from Glen Park High School and following school entered the United States Army, where he served honorably during World War II. Upon returning home, he attended the Watertown School of Commerce, where he met Nina F. Farnham. They married on June 24, 1950, at the Asbury United Methodist Church. The couple resided in Watertown before building their forever home in Brownville in 1956. Mr. Timerman began working for his cousin at the Daniels Insurance Agency in Chaumont, which he later purchased in 1970. He owned and operated the business until selling it to his son-in-law, Jerry Adams, in 2000.
Robert enjoyed bowling, traveling with his family, and was an avid reader, especially of World War II literature. Most of all, he cherished spending time with his children and grandchildren.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 74 years, Nina F. Timerman of Brownville, New York; his son and daughter-in-law, Stuart F. and Vicky Timerman of Milton, Delaware; his daughter, Deborah T. Adams of Dexter, New York; three grandchildren, Doug and Kelsey Adams of California, Steve Adams of Massachusetts, and Heather and Robert “J.R.” Walker of Milton, Delaware; four great-grandchildren, Avery Adams, Ryan and Charlotte Adams-Lopez, and Rune and Edwin Walker.
He was predeceased by his parents and his son-in-law, Jerry Adams.
A memorial service will be held at the Johnson Funeral Home, on OCTOBER 5th AT 1:00p.m. Burial will follow in the Dexter Cemetery.
