Richy M. Goodfriend

Richy M. Goodfriend, 57, of Three Mile Bay, New York, passed away on July 25, 2025, at Albany Medical Center.

Richy was born on December 10, 1967, in Watertown, New York, the son of the late Francis G. and Aline M. (LaBrosse) Goodfriend. He graduated from Lyme Central School in 1986 and went on to earn his associate’s degree from SUNY Morrisville.

Richy dedicated his career to the automotive industry, working for many years—and at the time of his passing—as an automotive parts salesman for NAPA Auto Parts. During that time, he also spent ten years working for the New York State Department of Transportation.

Richy enjoyed gardening and was a sports enthusiast. He especially loved watching football and basketball and was an avid Syracuse University fan.

He is survived by his siblings: Randy Goodfriend of Glen Park, NY; Ronald Goodfriend of Chaumont, NY; Rodney Goodfriend of Three Mile Bay, Robby Goodfriend. of Redwood, NY; Roland Goodfriend of Three Mile Bay, NY; and Robin (Robert) Goutremout of Brownville, NY; along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins. 

Besides his parents, Richy was predeceased by his brother, Rusty Goodfriend.

Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, July 30, from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. at Johnson Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow immediately at the funeral home. Burial will take place at New Cedar Grove Cemetery, Chaumont.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Richy's memory to the Chaumont Fire Department or the Three Mile Bay Fire Department.
