Reba Sylvia Williams, 84, of Dexter, New York, and formerly of New York City, passed away on April 24, 2025, at Samaritan Medical Center.
She was born on November 18, 1940, in Wilkesboro, North Carolina. Reba graduated from Wilkes Central High school in North Carolina and went on to earn her bachelor’s degree. She later moved to New York City, where she met and married Charles Williams. The couple made their home in Springfield Gardens, New York. Reba dedicated her professional life to helping others, working as a parasitologist at NYU Medical Center until her retirement.
In 2024, she relocated to Dexter, New York, to live with her grandson and his family.
Reba was predeceased by her parents, her beloved husband Charles, who passed away on February 3, 1994, and her daughter, Catherine Davila, who passed away on May 31st, 2013.
She is survived by her grandson and his wife, Edward and Barbara Bautista of Dexter, a son-in-law, Felix Davila of Kernersville, North Carolina, and her grandchildren: Matthew Davila, Catherine Davila, and Joseph Davila, all of North Carolina. She is also survived by four great-grandchildren: Leylani Bastardo, Nashali Bautista, Daniel Bautista, and Edward Bautista Jr.
In keeping with Reba’s wishes, there will be no public services. Burial will take place at the convenience of the family at Calverton National Cemetery on Long Island.
