Mary Davison Obituary

Mary R. Davison, of Church Street, Adams, New York, passed away peacefully on February 5, 2026, at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Syracuse, New York, surrounded by her loving family.

Mary was born on April 6, 1954, in Watertown, New York, the daughter of Delbert and June (Lalonde) Hare. She graduated from General Brown High School in 1974 and went on to work many years in the community at several places including Venus Swimwear, Northern Electric, Whispering Pines as a unit clerk, and later at the Jefferson County Correctional Facility, where she worked until retiring due to injuries from a car accident.

Mary was a caring mother, devoted grandmother, and a truly kind and gentle soul. She was known for her warm heart, easy smile, and the love she shared with everyone around her. She found joy in simple pleasures of puzzles, listening to music, spending time with her family, watching deer outdoors, and especially going for car rides and out to dinner. She loved visiting diners and treasured those moments spent laughing and visiting with loved ones.

Mary is survived by her daughter, Toni Delmonico and her significant other, Benjamin Howard, of Belleville, New York; her sons, Kyle Davison of Georgia and John Davison of Wisconsin; and her beloved grandchildren, Daxtin Elliott, Ridlei Elliott, Cora Howard, and Ariel Tyler. She was also blessed with three great-grandsons, Draven, Parker, and Thomas. Mary is also survived by several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

She is further survived by her brother, Robert Hare and his wife Florence of Carthage, New York, and her sister, Doris DelCampo and her husband Anthony of Brownville, New York.

Mary was predeceased by her parents and her brother, Earl Hare.

 A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, March 3, 2026, at 3:00 pm at the funeral home. A calling hour will be held from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m.

Arrangements are entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home of Dexter.

Donations in Mary’s memory may be made to the SPCA of Jefferson County or the Police Benevolent Association.
