Madeline R. Holder, 89, of Adams Center, New York, passed away at her home on December 22, 2023.
She was born on January 10, 1934, in Watertown, New York, daughter of Henry and Vernice (Gilbo) Avery. She attended Watertown High School and later married Elwood F. "Bud" Holder on August 17, 1950, at the Brownville Methodist Church.
Madeline dedicated over 30 years of her life to BOMAX, retiring in 1996. Her passions included crocheting, baking, making donuts, apple-picking, and traveling. Above all, she found immense joy in the company of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her daughters Judy E. Lillie, Adams Center, NY and Linda L. Arik, along with son-in-law Charles Arik, of Theresa, NY; a son David A. Lillie, Lorraine, NY;, daughter-in-law. JoAnne Holder, Salisbur, NC; sister Mary Wasillewski, Sulpur Springs, NY; five grandchildren, Autumn Arik and her companion Gary Spradlin, Charles Arik and his companion, Joshua (Christina) Arik, Dan Holder, and David (Kyrstin) Lillie, three great grandchildren, Charlie, Elizabeth and Ryleigh, and many nieces and nephews.
She is predeceased by her beloved husband Elwood F. "Bud" Holder, Jr., daughter, Diane Holder, and sons Danny Holder and Edward Holder, Jr.
Arrangements are entrusted to the Johnson Funeral Home, and a graveside service in the Brownville Cemetery will be held on Wednesday, May 8th at 10 a.m.. No calling hours or funeral service will take place.
