Louise Kidder Obituary

Louise Kidder, 80, of Watertown and formerly of Dexter passed away after a brief illness at Samaritan Medical Center on October 1, 2025 with her 3 children by her side.

Born on April 9, 1945, she was the daughter of the late Solomon Rudolph and Margaret (Stoffel) Jantzi Sr. She graduated from Lowville Academy in 1962 and moved to Watertown and was a graduate of the Watertown School of Commerce in 1963. She lived in Dexter for over 50 years where she raised her 3 children. Later in life she ‘downsized’ and returned to Watertown where she resided at the time of her passing.

She worked as front office support for Doctor Offices in Watertown and was a family care provider for adults with developmental disabilities for over 35 years. She enjoyed time with her family, eating out for lunch, quilting, sewing and crafting.

She is survived by her three children and their spouses: Karl and Kristen Kidder of Watertown, NY; Stephen and Sheila Kidder of Winston-Salem, NC; and Terri and Paul Erdner of Watertown, NY. She was a proud grandmother to five grandchildren: Alec and Rachel Erdner, Nathan Kidder, Hailey Kidder, Maggie Kidder and Nadia Kidder, and her 2 great-grandchildren Braxton and Nash along with 2 step-grandchildren Cameron and Dylan. She is also survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Solomon and Becky Jantzi, as well as several nieces and nephews. Her dog, Bella, was a faithful friend and kept her company over the past several years.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her sister and brother-in-law, Shirley and Ted Dickinson.

Arrangements are being handled by Johnson Funeral Home. Per her wishes there are no services and a private burial will be held at Dexter Cemetery at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the SPCA. Online condolences may be left at www.dexterfuneralhome.com.
