Obituary

Kristopher "Waterfowl" Scott Funk, 24 of Carthage, NY passed away peacefully on May 3, 2016, while surrounded by his loving family and friends. Kris was born on June 12, 1991 in Wurzberg, Germany to Jeffrey and Annie Grover Funk. Kris attended high school at General Brown and Immaculate Heart Central. He was employed as a technician at MasTec Advanced Technology of Syracuse. Kris married Samantha M. Kimmis on July 25, 2015 in Dexter, NY. They have two children, Brayden 6 and Willow, 2. Kris will be most remembered for his fun and adventurous personality. Kris's love for anything outdoors and easy going ways made him an easy person to friend. His friends will recall many days and hours spent fishing and hunting or just hanging out and have "goofy", innocent fun. Kris's greatest legacy, however, is his family from his parents and siblings to his aunts, uncles and cousins. His antics at family gatherings will be cherished and shared for years to come. Kris was a loving and devoted husband to Samantha. He was the Hero and Cool Dad to his children in his true nature. He created many hunting and fishing memories, along with family time and trips. Kris will continue to share his love of life as an organ donor. " Kris, may there be a boat full of fuel, gear and tackle waiting for you as you keep watch over your precious family." Kris is survived by his loving parents Jeff and Annie, his beloved wife, Samantha, his greatest legacy, his children Brayden and Willow; his brother Matthew Funk of Watertown, his sister Amanda Funk of Watertown, a brother-in-law Anthony Kimmis of Clayton, and a sister-in-law Kylie Kimmis of Brownville. In addition, he is survived by his paternal grandparents, Paul and Joyce Funk of New Jersey, several aunts, uncles and cousins. He was predeceased by his maternal grandparents Ann and Guy "Ted" Post. A funeral service will be held Tuesday 11:00 a.m. at the Johnson Funeral Home, Dexter. Calling hours will be Monday from 2-4 and 7-9.
