Karol Haynes

Karol Ann Haynes, 61, passed away Friday, June 7, 2024, at her home in Watertown.

 Karol was born in Watertown, NY on July 11, 1962, to the late Donald “Don” and Catherine “Cay” Haynes.

She graduated from Sackets Harbor Central School in 1980 and attended Jefferson County Community College and Mater Dei College. Throughout her life Karol had varied careers that included retail management and sales, medical office management, and children’s services.

Karol is survived by her son, Will Haynes, by sisters Kathy Schwalm (Doug), Karen Nellis (David), and Kezia Sullivan (Steve), and by nieces and nephews. Another sister, Kelle, passed away in 2020.

Karol’s greatest passions in life were her family, caring for children and animals, and hobbies that included reading and sewing. For the past 11 years she was a positive presence in the life of a young girl Karol first met through fostering; Karol became a close friend and mentor to her. Among her friends, relatives, and coworkers Karol will be remembered for her humor, loving nature, and work ethic.

 Arrangements are with Johnson Funeral Home, Dexter. Services will be private for the family.
