Joyce A. Fowler Obituary

Joyce A. Fowler, of Chaumont, NY, passed away unexpectedly on March 30, 2025, at Samaritan Medical Center, surrounded by her daughter and son-in-law. She was 91.

Born on October 2, 1933, in Watertown, NY, to William and Flora (Riddler) Delaney, Joyce's early life showed her active spirit. She graduated from Watertown High School in 1952, and enjoyed her time as a majorette, lifeguard, and swimmer.

On September 18, 1956, Joyce married Carlton (Carl) R. Fowler in Watertown. They made their home in Chaumont, embracing the lakeside life. Boating and fishing were favorite pastimes. Joyce contributed to her community as a member of the Chaumont Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary. She and Carl also shared a passion for their business, "Pop’s Hot Sauce," and enjoyed traveling to events, their favorite being the Remsen Barn Festival.

Joyce worked at Faichney’s in Watertown, and later at Crupi’s Motel, where she formed lasting bonds with the Crupi family, especially Patty (Crupi) Dillenbeck and Anthony Crupi.
Her home on Indian Point Road was a source of pride and comfort. She cherished her time with her daughter, Carla, and found joy in simple pleasures like feeding the birds, and caring for her cat, Miss Kitty. The long drives with Carla were very special to her.

Joyce is survived by her daughter, Carla Fowler, and her husband, Scott Casler; her brothers, Terry L. Delaney and Gary G. Delaney; and her close friends, Lorraine (her beloved sister-friend), and ‘The Girls’: Cindy, Sue, and Debbie. The ladies luncheons that she shared with those friends were very important to her.

She was predeceased by her husband, Carl Fowler, and her siblings, Jack Delaney, Barbara Delaney, Richard Delaney, and Joseph Delaney.

In honoring Joyce’s wishes, services will be private and held at the family’s convenience.

Arrangements are entrusted with Johnson Funeral Home, Dexter.
