Obituary

John Wesley Henderson, born February 28, 1953 in Watertown passed away peacefully at home on May 4, 2015 after a brief illness. He was the son of the late Joseph C. Henderson and Shirley Porter Henderson Sullivan. John was a graduate of General Brown High School and retired from the City of Watertown Parks and Recreation Department after 32 years. John married Debra Ann Sugrue April 20, 1974 in Evans Mills by Justice of the Peace Harold Watson. John coached American Little League baseball for 22 years and enjoyed family bonfires and cookouts, baseball, music, gardening and attending grandchildren's sports games, old western shows and his dogs. He was an avid Detroit Tigers Fan. He is survived by his wife Debra, a daughter Jillian Henderson Russell (Jason) of Sackets Harbor, a son John W. Henderson III and companion Jacqueline Hill of North Carolina, grandchildren: Dylan, Austin, John Wesley IV, Jaden, Ashton, Frank, Carlee, Khalin, Brody and Joseph. One brother Joseph Henderson and companion Bernice Reynolds of MA., and three sisters: Diane Quencer of Sackets Harbor, Lynda Vaadi (Thomas) of LaFargeville, and Millie (Steve) Marks of Brownville and many nieces and nephews survive. Calling hours will be from 6-8 P.M. on Thursday May 7th at the Johnson Funeral Home, Dexter. At his request there will be no funeral. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
