Jane E. Van Brocklin, 82, passed away peacefully on October 21, 2024, at the Francis House in Syracuse.
She was born on May 21, 1942, in Watertown, NY, to Raymond and Jessie (Botting) Dwyer. She graduated from General Brown High School in 1960.
Jane married Richard C. Van Brocklin on May 11, 1964, in Adams, NY. Their marriage was blessed at the Brownville Episcopal Church.
Jane began her career in Watertown as a secretary for an OBGYN practice. After relocating to Rochester, she held various positions before settling in Syracuse in August 1977. She retired as a food service manager for the North Syracuse School District. Together with her husband, Jane operated an insurance claims business in Syracuse for several years. Richard passed away on August 12, 2014.
Jane cherished her family and found great joy in taking care of her home. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, playing cards, knitting, crocheting, crafting, and reading.
She is survived by her daughter, Rae Ann Hickok of Old Forge, NY; her two grandchildren and their spouses, Justin and Kelsey Hickok of Bridgeport, NY, and Caitlyn and Sean Coyne of Central Square, NY; and a great grandson, Colby Coyne.
Arrangements are with the Johnson Funeral Home, Dexter. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, October 25, 2024, in Brownville Cemetery.
