James A. Suber, 94, of 329 E. Main St., Sackets Harbor, NY, passed away November 20, 2021.
He was born on September 18, 1927, in Dushore, PA, son of (William Suber and Rella Sceerfoss). he entered the US Army on March 16, 1946 in Fort Monmouth in NJ and he was honorably discharged on August 31, 1947 as a PFC. He received the WWII Victory Medal and Army Occupation Medal Japan. Years later he was selected and honored to participate with the Honor Flight.
He married Elnora Texler on November 7, 1948 in Oneida, NY. Elnora was a homemaker and local librarian.
Mr. Suber worked at NY AirBrake as a journeyman electrician, Joe Powers Furniture and Appliances in Watertown, Carrier Corp.in Syracuse and various jobs in NNY.
Among his survivors are his loving wife Elnora Suber, a daughter, Lucinda M. Stevens, of Cape Vincent, four grandchildren, Heather Favret, Redondo Beach, CA, Ezra (Laura) Stevens, Olympia, WA, Seth Stevens, Watertown and Jeremiah (Sarah) Stevens, Troy, NY; his brother, John Suber, VA; several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents he is predeceased by a sister, Florence Ames and two brothers, Paul and William Suber.
Arrangements are with the Johnson Funeral Home, Dexter.
There will be no calling hours or funeral service. It was his wish to be cremated and burial will be held in the Sackets Harbor Military Cemetery at a later date.
