Sackets Harbor, NY – Henry K. Lennox, Sr., 96, of Sackets Harbor, passed away peacefully on May 17, 2025, at Samaritan Summit Village, where he had been a resident.
Born on September 19, 1928, in Adams, New York, Henry was the son of Wesley and Pauline (Crowder) Lennox. He attended Belleville Academy and dedicated his life to serving his community through a variety of roles.
Henry began his career with Jefferson County as a Special Deputy Sheriff, serving until the late 1960s. He then became the head of security at Fay’s Drugstore, a position he held until the late 1980s. Later, he worked in security at Fort Drum’s AAFES Exchange and concluded his career as a hall monitor for the Watertown City School District.
On April 1, 1948, Henry married Violet LaGray in Henderson, NY. They shared 45 years of marriage before her passing in 1993.
Henry was an avid gardener, known for the care and pride he took in his gardens. He found great joy and peace in nurturing his plants and sharing the beauty of his work with others.
He is survived by his three children: Kimberly Eliopoulous and her companion John Craighead of Theresa, NY; Henry K. Lennox, Jr. and his wife Annie of Natural Bridge, NY; and Carson Lennox and his wife Marlene of Sulphur Springs, NY. He is also survived by several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
In addition to his parents and his beloved wife Violet, Henry was predeceased by two daughters, Sonja Vorce and Sue Ann Jandreau; two brothers, Wilford Lennox and Earl “Hubert” Lennox; and three sisters, Mildred Snyder, Doris Truesdale, and Wilma Gillard.
Arrangements are with Johnson Funeral Home. There will be no services. Burial will take place at the convenience of the family in Sulphur Springs Cemetery.
