Doris Frasher Obituary

Doris E. Frasher, formerly of Dexter, passed away January 21, 2024 at Samaritan Keep Nursing Home.

Born January 16, 1930 in the Town of Brownville, she was the daughter of Oren and Julia (Allen) Banks.

Doris married Wallace Frasher in 1953 and worked 28 years at Key Bank, steadily progressing from teller to an auditor for multiple branches. She was also an active member of the Dexter American Legion Auxiliary and Dexter United Methodist Church. Every Spring the couple enjoyed lengthy road trips throughout the country with Doris behind the wheel, visiting all but 5 states in their many adventures. Wallace passed away in 1981 but content to stay near family, Doris finished out her career at Watertown Savings Bank where she retired in 1989 before moving to St. Cloud, FL. There she had what she would describe as the happiest years of her life, traveling around with family, a great circle of friends and many quiet afternoons reading murder mysteries on her porch. In 2015 Doris returned to Watertown to be close to family once again. Always known for her kindness, she was a wonderful role model of strength and confidence and will be sadly missed by all that loved her.

Doris was predeceased by her parents, her husband, and brother, Harold O. Banks. She is survived by several nieces and nephews: Sue (James) Kirch, Robert Banks, Sheryl (Jeffrey) Bebernes, Debra (David) Hanas, Kevin (Wenda) Frasher, Keith (Joanne) Frasher, Stephen (Sandra) Frasher, Sandra Belden and Linda Holder.
