Diane Quencer Obituary

Diane M. Quencer, 77, Sackets Harbor passed away February 22, 2024, at home surrounded by her family under the care of hospice.

Diane was born April 6, 1946, to the late Joseph C. Henderson and Shirley Porter Henderson Sullivan.  She graduated in 1963 from General Brown High School. She enjoyed spending time with her family (AIS), gardening, crafting with friends, and attending her nephew’s hockey games.  She was always ready for a competitive game of cards, usually on the winning team.

Diane married Gerald (Jerry) Quencer on October 27, 1984.

Survived by her daughters Robin (Tony) Huntley, Apollo Beach FL, Terry Wheeler, Watertown NY, and Tammy Austin, Hope AR, stepson Robert (Pam) Quencer, FL. Grandchildren - Amber (Jeremy) Aaron, Kendra (Allen Ocasio), Kataya Alvarez, Juan Alvarez, Christopher (Phoenix) Bruce, Shelby (Nicholas) Martinez, Jasmine Haven, David Mahon. Great-grandchildren – Joshua, Ethan, Jace, Kylee, Trinity Jo, Laylani, and Karson.

Two sisters Lynda (Tom) Vaadi, LaFargeville NY, Mildred “Millie” (Steve) Marks, Hilton Head SC, a brother Joseph (Bernice) Henderson, Mashpee MA, sister-in-law’s Debra Henderson and Mildred Pisarski, NY.

Several Nieces, Nephews, and Cousins (in the States and Canada).

Diane was also very close to James (Bridget DeMarse) Austin and his children Haeley, Kiara, Isabelle, Lesa (Roger) Carston, and two very “special daughters” Julie Parody and Mabel Peabody.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Gerald (Jerry) Quencer, son Richard C. Haven, brother John W. Henderson, nephew Wayne A. Davis, stepson Ronald Quencer, and Kaleb Austin.

Per her wishes, there will be no services. A celebration of life will be announced later.

The family would like to thank the staff at Summit Village Assisted Living for their compassion and excellent care given to Diane, as well as Jefferson County Hospice.
