Crystal Crosbie Obituary

Crystal K. Crosbie, 47, of Watertown, New York, passed away on July 14, 2024, at the Samaritan Medical Center from complications following a long battle with diabetes.

Born on May 17, 1977, in Watertown, New York, Crystal was the daughter of John W. and Tina M. (Jobson) Crosbie. She attended Watertown High School. Following her schooling, she married, and together she and her husband had a son, Brendon, before their marriage ended in divorce. Crystal then found a long-term companion in Richard Mono, with whom she shared 20 years and a daughter, Kyla.

Crystal worked as a waitress at Moe’s Diner, the Golden Unicorn, and the Chatterbox in Carthage for many years until she was injured and retired due to disability. She loved waitressing and was well-loved and a hard worker. Later, she became a home health aide, working for Committed Home Care in Watertown for over 10 years.

Crystal cherished spending time with her grandchildren, going to the beach, camping, enjoying the outdoors, gardening, and drinking coffee.

She is survived by her son, Brendon L. Copestick, and his companion, Hailey Barney, of Cape Vincent, NY; her daughter, Kyla R. Mono, and her companion, Damian Hance, of Philadelphia, NY; four grandchildren, Gracelynn Hance, Colton Hance, Ashtyn Hance, and Bentley Copestick; her paternal grandmother, Mert Crosbie, of Crogan, NY; and her four siblings, Amanda (Colin) Moore of Rodman, NY, Melissa Crosbie of Mansville, NY, and twin sisters Amy Crosbie and Amber Hilts.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her paternal grandfather, John K. Crosie, and her maternal grandparents, Lyle and Fern Jobson.

Arrangements are with the Johnson Funeral Home. It was Crystal’s wish to be cremated, and burial will take place in the Dexter Cemetery at the convenience of the family. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, July 27th at the Evans Mills Fire Hall from Noon until 4 p.m.

Donations in her memory may be made to the family to help offset funeral expenses or to the American Diabetes Association.
