Charles “Charlie” Fisher
02/09/1941 – 09/19/2025
On September 19, 2025, we lost a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend.
Charles (Charlie) Fisher was born on February 9, 1941, to Adelbert and Irene Keegan Fisher of Dexter, NY. He graduated from General Brown High School in 1961 and married Nancy McBride that same year. They later divorced.
Charlie worked at Black Clawson before beginning a long career with the Watertown Public Schools, where he retired in 1998.
In 1990, he married Bonnie Poole Miller in Kissimmee, FL. Together they became true snowbirds, spending winters in Haines City, FL, and summers in Northern New York surrounded by family. Charlie especially enjoyed attending the many activities of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who loved having their “PaPa” cheering them on.
In 2020, Charlie and Bonnie moved to Florida full-time, though Northern New York always remained “home” in his heart.
Charlie is survived by his wife, Bonnie; his children, Charles (Randy) of Haines City, FL, and Tami (Rod) Kahnell and Kelly Fisher (Mark Swank), all of Watertown; his grandchildren, Nicole Adderley, Lindsey Watson, Jessica (John) McKillip, Daniel Kahnell, Julie (Richard) Sensenbach, and Kaylee Fisher; and his great-grandchildren, McKenzie, Isabella, Lilla, Rowyn, Kendall, Henry, Riley, and Jackson, as well as several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents and his sisters, Beverly Nichols and Delores “Dolly” Toper.
A private celebration of life will be held at the family’s convenience and burial will be at later date.
