Barbara J Bisnett

Barbara J. Bisnett,83, of Dexter,NY, passed away peacefully on March 22, 2024, at Samaritan Keep Nursing Home, where she had resided for the past seven years.

Born on December 3,1940, Barbara was the daughter of Charles and Altha (Brower) Lapp. She graduated from Sackets Harbor High School in 1958. She married Edward W. Bisnett on March 21,1959. Although Edward passed away on July 7, 1963, Barbara remained devoted and never remarried.

Barbara's career began at W.T. Grant Department Store, in Watertown,  until she became disabled with Multiple Sclerosis. Despite her challenges, she found joy in various sports, particularly rooting for the New York Yankees, New York Giants, and Syracuse University men's basketball team.  Fishing and being near the water were cherished pastimes, especially at her waterfront home on Pillar Point. 

She is survived by her son, Jeffrey “Pete” Bisnett of Dexter, NY; two cousins, Gerald and Robert Taylor, and many nieces and nephews.

She is predeceased by her beloved husband, Edward W. Bisnett; a son, Gregory Bisnett in 2007, and two brothers, David and Richard Lapp.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Samaritan Keep Nursing Home 133 Pratt St., Watertown, NY 13601.

Arrangements are with Johnson Funeral Home, Dexter. There will be no service. Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery, Sackets Harbor at the convenience of the family.
