Albert G. (Fred) Jobson, of Pillar Point, New York passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, May 17, 2024.
He was born on May 27, 1939, in Alexandria Bay, The son of John and Violet (Brown) Jobson.
Fred married Myrna G. Weston on July 12, 1961, in Aberdeen, Maryland, beginning a loving and enduring partnership that spanned over six decades. Together, they built a beautiful family and shared countless memories.
Fred’s professional journey began with Sears, where he worked as a subcontractor. His commitment to quality craftmanship soon led him to establish his own contracting business, Jobson Contracting.
Fred enjoyed hunting, fishing, and archery. He was a member of the Little Angels snowmobile club on Pillar Point, loved to “Patrol” Pillar Point, was an avid Hamm and CB radio operator, a former member of the Watertown Boxing Club, watching wrestling and John Wayne Westerns, he never missed an episode of the Rifleman.
His greatest joy came from spending time with his family, especially watching his grandchildren participate in their sporting events. Fred's dedication to his family was matched by his commitment to helping others. Alongside his beloved wife, he actively supported the Cystic Fibrosis research foundation.
He is survived by his four daughters: Cathy (Charles) Mackey of Brownville, Melody Jobson (Michael Wager), Jody Thomas and Roxanne Jobson (Richard Hartman) all of Dexter. Roy and Jean Eiss (raised him after the loss of both parents) of South Carolina.
His grandchildren; Bryan, Brad, Nathan, Shyanna, Kurtas, Gordon, Robert, Dallas, Brandon, Macayla, Hannah and Katelin.
His great grandchildren; Merissa, Lilly, Teagan, Willow, Reed, Payton, Kade, Camden, Vivian, Colton, Demi, Paislee, Maverick, Everly, Madilynn, Harlen, Emma, David, Arthur and lastly a great- great grandson Carter.
Fred is predeceased by his wife, Myrna (Mooch) Jobson, a grandson, James Jobson-Wager, a son-in-law, Robert (Bird) Thomas, and his siblings: Isabelle, Dorothy, Lyle, Lewis, John, Ruth, and Betty.
Calling hours will be held from 11 A.M.-1 P.M. Thursday, May 23, 2024 at the Johnson Funeral Home, Dexter. A funeral service will follow calling hours at 1 P.M. at the funeral home. The burial will be in Dexter Cemetery. A Celebration of Life will be held immediately following the burial at 16675 State Route 12E Dexter, New York 13634.
