Shirley A. Vincent, 93, of Dexter, NY, passed away peacefully on May 7, 2026, at Samaritan Summit Village, where she had resided since November 2025.
She was born on March 26, 1933, in Watertown, daughter of Carl S. and Marguerite (Warren) Van Brocklin. Shirley graduated from Dexter High School.
On December 24, 1953, she married Leonard W. “Bud” Vincent. The couple shared a loving marriage and made their home in Dexter throughout their lives together.For 17 years, Bud worked for Marvin Refrigeration. On July 1, 1978, the couple purchased the business, where Shirley faithfully worked as secretary and bookkeeper for many years until their retirement in 2007.
Shirley was a devoted member of the Brownville Busy BG’s and Immaculate Conception Church, where she sang in the choir and was a member of the Altar and Rosary Society. She enjoyed baking, bowling, and golfing, and treasured the time she spent with her family and friends.
She is survived by her daughter, Janice Lomber of Dexter; her two sons and daughters-in-law, Thomas (Ann) Vincent of Brownville and Dan (Nancy) Vincent of Dexter; six grandchildren, Michael (Emily) Lomber, Leigh (Jeff) Curtacci, Sean Vincent, Krista (Michael) Iannetta, Gerald (Carianne) Vincent, and Jacob Vincent; five great-grandchildren, Riley Lomber, Tucker Lomber, Lorelei Vincent, Eloise Vincent, and Giovanni Iannetta; one great-great-grandson, Jace Lomber; a sister, Mary Tanner of Watertown; along with many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Shirley was predeceased by her beloved husband, Leonard W. “Bud” Vincent, on October 3, 2018; a granddaughter, Tara Vincent; and by two brothers, Robert Van Brocklin and Richard Van Brocklin.
Arrangements are with the Johnson Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 14, at Brownville Cemetery.
