Marta D. Rasmussen, 67, of 29822 NYS RT. 3, Black River, passed away October 16, 2019 at her home.

She was born on May 30, 1952 in Duncan, Oklahoma, daughter of Charles and Beverly June (Hansen) Shubin.  She graduated from Rancho High School in 1970 and would later go onto college.

She married Bjorn Rasmussen on November 29, 1980 in Fullerton, CA.  He was the father of her children and the couple were married for ten years before the marriage ended in divorce.

While residing in California and Texas she was a realestate agent for 35 years.  Upon retiring she resided along side her daughter and son in law who serves in the US Army.  They have been stationed in Texas, Hawaii and most recently at Fort Drum where they have resided in Black River since 2018.

Marta loved to draw, enjoyed swimming, sewing, knitting, she loved music, dancing and going to the beach.

Among her survivors are two daughters and their husbands, Dorice J. and Patrick H. Cannon, Black River, Jessica J. and Justin Wika, Fargo, ND, a son, Garhett J. Rasmussen, CA, four grandchildren, Daniel Jr., Jesse, Patrick Jr., and Zoey, her siblings, David and Shenith Jackson, Monica and Bob Lingard, Kay and Greg Scott, and Shelly Walts all of California, and many nieces and nephews.

It was her wish to be cremated.  There will be no calling or funeral service.  A celebration of life will be held in California at a later date.
