George M. Kovalik Sr., age 91 of Chaumont, NY passed away November 20, 2018 in Lacrosse Wisconsin. George was born July 14, 1927 in Allentown, NJ the son of Alexander and Ester Palko Kovalik.  After graduating from High School he entered the US Army in 1945 and was discharged in 1946 at the end of World War 11 where he served in the Military Police. He married Gloria J. Day in 1948 in Trenton, NJ. George worked for the New York State Parks Police in the Jefferson County area until he retired. He is survived by two sons and their wives: George and Marjorie Kovalik Jr. of Dexter and Gerry and Joanne Kovalik of Waterford, Wisconsin.  He also has three grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife Gloria on July8, 2016. A private service will be held at the Johnson Funeral Home, Dexter at the convenience of the family.  Burial will be in New Cedar Grove Cemetery, Chaumont in the spring.
