Dorothy Helen
(Keeler) Parker
February 2, 1939 – December 9, 2023
Dorothy Helen (Keeler) Parker, 84, of Three Mile Bay, New York, passed away peacefully on December 10, 2023, at her home supported by her nephew and a team from Hospice of Jefferson County - truly angels on Earth.
Born on February 2, 1939, in Watertown, New York, the daughter of Carroll and Louise (Angell) Keeler of Dexter NY. Dorothy graduated from General Brown High School.
After graduating she worked as a hairdresser for several years. She married USNR Lt. Edward Parker in Green, Rhode Island in the fall of 1967. Mr. Parker's career with Motorola took the couple all over the world. From 1970 through 2000 they lived on four continents including Asia, Europe, Australia, and several of the United States.
'Dot and Ed' purchased their summer home on the South Shore Rd of Point Peninsula in 1997 and this became her permanent home following Ed's passing in Staunton VA.
She was an avid quilter, enjoyed cooking and baking, loved hosting dinner parties and family gatherings; and was the grand dame of the annual Church Mouse sale at the Little White Church on Point Peninsula.
She is survived by her sister, Linda Laskey, of NC, nephews, Alan Bartnik, David Wilminko, Brian Bartnik, niece Laurie Futrell, and several grand nieces and nephews.
Arrangements are with Johnson Funeral Home in Dexter, New York. There will be no services, it was her wish to be cremated.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her honor to the Little White Church on Point Peninsula or the SPCA.
Online condolences may be shared at www.dexterfuneralhome.com.
