Doris E. Makuch, 86, of Calcium, NY, passed away peacefully on November 22, 2023 at the Carthage Area Hospital.

She was born on July 15, 1937, in Copenhagen, NY, daughter of Christopher and Anna (Peebles) Snyder. She attended Copenhagen Central School.

She married William A. Makuch on November 6, 1955 in Copenhagen.  She and her husband purchased land in Calcium and built the Ridgedale Trailer Park.  They owned and operated the park until 1990 when they sold it to their son William Makuch Jr. She worked alongside her husband as a team along with being a full time mother to their three children.

She and her husband spent many winters in Zephyrhills, Fl.

Among her survivors are her three children, Jo-Ann (Terry) Ramsdell, Black River, NY, William "Billy" (Sheryl) Makuch Jr., and Gregory Makuch, Calcium, NY; a brother, Gerald Snyder, Copenhagen, a sister, Valerie Laribee, Copenhagen; 6 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents she is predeceased by her loving of 65 years husband William A. Makuch Sr., on January 24, 2021 and a grandson, Garret Ramsdell in 2006 and 14 siblings.

Arrangements are with the Hart & Bruce Funeral Home.

There will be a graveside service on Tuesday, November 28th at Noon in the Sanford Corners Cemetery.
