Cheryl L. Connor, 67, of Brownville, New York, passed away unexpectedly at her home on May 18, 2026.
She was born June 9, 1958, in Watertown, New York, the daughter of James and Beverly (Alton) Monroe. Cheri grew up in Philadelphia, New York, and graduated from Indian River Central School in 1976. She later attended Careerco in Syracuse, where she received her education as a dental assistant.
Cheri dedicated 49 years of service to the dental profession. She began her career with Dr. Paul Michelson in Watertown and retired from Fort Drum DENTAC. She was known for her strong work ethic, kindness, and the compassionate care she gave to her patients throughout the years.
On September 10, 1977, she married the love of her life, Timothy Connor, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Philadelphia, New York. Together they shared 48 loving years of marriage and built a life centered around family, laughter, and devotion to one another.
Cheri is survived by her beloved husband, Timothy Connor of Brownville; her children, Daniel Connor and Lila Love of Evans Mills, and Colleen (Christopher) Shear of Brownville; and her eight grandchildren, Quinn and Aria Connor, Callie and Connor Shear, and Connor, Lucy, Charlie, and Henry Love, who were truly the pride and joy of her life.
She is also survived by her mother, Beverly Monroe of Watertown; her sister and brother-in-law, Cathy (Michael) Trembley of Glen Park; many sisters and brothers-in-law, affectionately known as the “outlaws”; as well as many nieces, nephews, and lifelong friends who will cherish her memory forever.
Cheri was predeceased by her father, James Monroe; her sister, Joan Monroe; her mother and father-in-law, Ruth and Lyle Connor; brothers-in-law John Connor, Dave Lomber, and Howard Heise; and sister-in-law Brenda Connor.
Arrangements are under the care of the Johnson Funeral Home. Due to renovations, services will be held at Hart & Bruce Funeral Home, 117 North Massey Street, Watertown.
Calling hours will be held Friday, May 22, from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held Saturday, May 23, at 11:00 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Church. Burial will follow in Brownville Cemetery, with a reception afterward at the Brownville American Legion.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Cheri’s memory may be made to Maddie’s Mark.
