Audrey M. Heise, 81, of Dexter, New York, passed away on November 29, 2023, at University Hospital SUNY Health Science Center in Syracuse, New York.

Born on February 20, 1942, in Potsdam, New York, to Cecil and Jean( Lamb) Kirkey, she attended General Brown High School. Audrey married Arnold H. Heise, Sr., on September 12, 1959, at the United Methodist Church in Dexter, New York. Initially a devoted homemaker raising her 11 children, Audrey later became a certified nursing assistant, dedicating over 20 years of service to Jefferson County Public Health until her retirement. Her husband, Arnold, worked as a custodian for Dexter Elementary School and predeceased her on October 27, 2009. Audrey cherished Bingo nights and had a special affection for her many cats.

She is survived by her 10 children: Jaye and Gerry Haas, Chaumont, NY, Arnold H. Heise, Jr., Dexter, NY,  Lisa and Timothy Smith, Evans Mills, NY,  James "Jimmy" Heise, Watertown, NY,  Alfred Heise, Evans Mills, NY, Barbara and Nelson Hope, Jr., Elizabethton, TN, Billie Jo and Darren Urgo,Vermillon, OH,  Casandra and Kevin Buckles,Elizabethton, TN,  Judith Heise and her companion Scott Thomas, Watertown, NY, and Tami Endres, Dexter, NY;  along with 25 grandchildren, 43 great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, and her beloved brother, William Kirkey of Dexter, New York.

Besides her parents she is predeceased by a son Walter Heise, a daughter-in-law, Judi K. Heise, a sister, Barbara Ames, and two brothers, Donald and Raymond Kirkey.

Arrangements are under the care of Johnson Funeral Home in Dexter. Calling hours will be held on Saturday, December 2nd, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at the funeral home, followed by a 3 p.m. funeral service. Burial in Dexter Cemetery will be held on Monday, May 13th at 10a.m..
