DEXTER, NY – Arthur G. "Oscar" Parody, 64, of Dexter, NY, passed away peacefully on May 7, 2025, at Samaritan Medical Center in Watertown, surrounded by family.

Arthur was born on July 31, 1960, in Dexter, NY the son of the late Arthur and Dolores (Weston) Parody. He was a graduate of General Brown High School. Following graduation, he moved to California, where he worked as a chef in a hotel restaurant for several years.

Arthur later returned to Dexter, where he married the love of his life, Bonnie L. Gilchrist, on February 15, 2006. The couple made their home in Dexter. He enjoyed spending time on his computer, camping, and cooking—sharing his love of food and the outdoors with those around him.

Arthur is survived by his beloved wife, Bonnie L. Parody of Dexter; his son, Arthur Parody of Nebraska; his stepson, Jason (Laurie) Gilchrist of Watertown; two brothers, Bernard (Jana) Parody of Dexter and Carl (Brenda) Parody of Brownville; his sister-in-law, Karen Parody of Dexter; and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents and two brothers, Michael and Randy Parody.

Arrangements are with Johnson Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, May 17, at 12:00 p.m. at Brownville Cemetery.
