Eric Charles Farr Sr. of Game Farm Rd. Dexter passed away Sunday evening on his 84th birthday at his home. He had been under the care of his family and Hospice.
Eric was born October 11, 1925 in the Town of LeRay the son of Fred and Eva Dorr Farr. He attended school at the Game Farm Rural School. He married Hilda A. Cassell on October 1, 1949 at the Brownville United Methodist Church.
Eric owned and operated a farm and a used car parts business at his home on Game Farm Rd. He was a race car driver in years past and enjoyed NASCAR, he was former member of Brownville Masons and Civil Air Patrol.
Surviving is his wife Hilda and six children and their spouses; Casilda and John Peckham Jr. of Watertown, Charlene D. Farr of Dexter, Eric :Bud” and Sandra Farr Jr. of Watertown, Cheryl and Frank Burns of Sackets Harbor, H. Tommy and Linda Farr of Watertown and Starr and Angelo Peters of Dexter. He also has 10 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, 4 step grandchildren and 6 step great grandchildren, brothers Donald Farr of Auburn, and Harold Farr of Evans Mills, numerous nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by a brother Leon and a sister Helen Burke.
Funeral services will be Friday 11:00 a.m. at the Johnson Funeral Home, Dexter with Rev. Mark Pierce of Lake and River Parish officiating. Burial will be in Brownville Cemetery. Calling hours will be from 2-4 and 7-9 on Wednesday and Friday. Donations may be made to Hospice of Jefferson County or the American Heart Association.
