Donald J. Melisko, age 75 of Main St. Brownville passed away Saturday afternoon at Samaritan Medical Center. He had been a patient a short time.
Donald was born March 6, 1932 in Deferiet, N.Y. the son of Stephen and Helen Grugus Melisko. He attended school in Deferiet and graduated from Augustinian Academy in Carthage.
Donald served in the Air Force during the Korean War entering in 1952 and served until 1956. He married Blanche F. Audette at Immaculate Conception Church, Brownville in July of 1961.
Donald and his wife Blanche owned and operated Menisci’s Grocery Store in Dexter for many years where he was also the butcher.
Donald is survived by his wife Blanche of Brownville, a daughter Sally Melisko address unknown.
He is also survived by two brothers Edward Melisko of Horseheads, N.Y. and Albert Melisko of Pittsburgh, PA. He also has several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by a brother Robert and a sister Agnes Mattingly.
A memorial service will be held Wednesday 11:00 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Church, Brownville with Fr. Kevin O’Brien officiating. There are no calling hours. He will be cremated. Donations may be made to Immaculate Conception Church, Brownville. Arrangements are with Johnson Funeral Home, Dexter.
