Floyd L.”Sonny” Bauter

Floyd L.”Sonny” Bauter, 70 of William St. Dexter passed away at his home Saturday morning. He had been under the care of his family and Jefferson County Public Health.
Floyd was born September 6, 1937 in Dexter. He was the son of Floyd F. and Anna Cahill Bauter. He graduated from General Brown High School. He served in the Navy Reserve and married Carol A. Schreiner on August 2, 1959 at the Dexter Presbyterian Church.
The couple has lived in Dexter at their present home since 1961. He worked as a deliveryman for Pennock Oil, 7 States Gas Co., Stroehman Bros. for 24 years and maintenance foreman for Conifer Realty until becoming ill.
He was a member of Smith Savage Post #583 of Dexter, Dexter Presbyterian Church, and Dexter Historical Society and was a former member of Dexter Cemetery Association.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing and was an avid NASCAR fan.
He is survived by his wife Carol and two children and their spouses; Tina and Jack Siembida and Stacy and Kristen Bauter all of Dexter. He has five grandchildren, a brother James Bauter of Black River and nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday 1:00 P.M. at the Johnson Funeral Home, Dexter with the Rev. Gail Parsons, pastor of Dexter Presbyterian Church officiating. Burial will be in Dexter Cemetery. Calling hours will be Monday from 5-7 P.M. Donations are requested to be made to the Dexter Presbyterian Church or the Dexter Fire Dept. and Ambulance Squad.
