Elnora J. Phillips Elnora J. Phillips, age 84 of County Rt. 5, Three Mile Bay passed away Saturday 11:05 a.m. at Mercy Health Center where she has resided for several years.

Elnora was born July 21, 1923 in Chaumont, the daughter of Floyd W. and Hazel M. Slate Benney. She attended school at Chaumont High. She married I. Jack Phillips on June 19, 1943 in Brownville Parsonage by the Rev. Lester Wakemon. Attendants wer her sister Marjorie and brother-in-law Jack Hughes..

She was a housewife and homemaker and was a member of Eastern Stars of Chaumont, Three Mile Bay Fire Auxiliary since it’s inception in 1947 and she was also a census taker in 1970.

She is survived by her husband Jack and four daughters. Cindy Schreiber of Three Mile Bay, Pamela Heasley of Watertown, Mrs. Robert Darla Taylor of Chaumont and Mrs. Paul Jackie Crandall of Farmington. She has nine grandchildren and four great grandchildren. A grandson Mark Heasley died in 1993.

She has a sister Marjorie Hughes ,Florida and two brothers DeWayne Benney and Kenneth Benney of Chaumont, surviving and numerous nieces and nephews. Two sisters Alice Gunn and Jean Campany and a brother Niles Benney predeceased her.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday 11:00 a.m. at the Johnson Funeral Home, Dexter with Rev. Mark Pierce, pastor of Three Mile Bay United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in Dexter Cemetery. Calling hours will be Monday from 2-4 and 7-9. Donations may be made to Three Mile Bay Fire Auxiliary or Three Mile Bay United Methodist Church.
